Photo Album: Baiting Pavement Ants in Freehold, NJ
A homeowner in Freehold, NJ contacted Cowleys after finding ants in her kitchen. As we inspected the kitchen we couldn't find a single trace of any ants or where they were gaining access into the home — everything was nicely sealed and clean. That is until we inspected the dining room and discovered multiple ant entryways.
Small Gap, Big Ant Problem
We inspected the dining and found a gap between the baseboard and the floor. We took a closer look and found pavement ants scurrying about.
Most Common House-Infesting Ants
Pavement ants are one of the most commonly encountered house-infesting ants. These tiny brown to black ants get their name from nesting in cracks of pavement, under stones, and next to buildings.
They Were Hiding in the Bait Stations
First, we needed to replace all of the old bait stations in the dinning room. As we started to pick the ant stations a bunch of pavement ants came racing out of one of them.
A Light Liquid Application Will Fix it
We treated the kitchen, the dining room, and the rooms surrounding it with a light liquid application. We also went down to the basement and treated the sill plate underneath the dining room. Next, we went outside and treated the entire exterior of the property.
This is How it Works
We also replaced all the ant bait stations in the dinning room. Once a worker ant comes in contact with the liquid application they will bring it back to the colony where they groom one another. In a few weeks, the colony is eliminated.
