Photo Album: Carpenter ant and pest treatment in Marlboro
I provided an initial Gold Home Protection Plan Service at a house in Marlboro, NJ. The resident was having an issue with carpenter ants. In this house the basement was unfinished. I could see on top of the basement wall piles of sawdust shavings called frass. I knew immediately that there was a carpenter ant infestation in this home. Carpenter ants do not eat the wood like termites do. These ants excavate the wood and then nest in it, producing smooth galleries in the wood. Treatments were applied in nesting spots and around points of entry to eliminate the problem. Bait stations were also placed for mice as a monitoring system.

Carpenter ant spray treatment applied in Marlboro
I started this carpenter ant treatment by injecting an aerosol into the cracks and crevices of the sill plate and header boards. This will reach the ants further embedded in the wood and eradicate them.

I checked the soffits for wasp activity. I removed an old paper wasp nest. A good and thorough initial service will solve the initial pest problem and can help to combat future issues with mice.
