Installation of shock tracks for seagulls in Normandy Beach
After speaking with the frustrated homeowner, it was time to get to work. I was anxious to give these birds some strong incentives that would motivate them to go elsewhere. There are a number of effective ways to make your roof inhospitable to birds. Here, I used two of my favorites that I believed would be most effective in modifying the birds' behavior and provide incentives for them to move. First, I installed shock tracks to the peaks of the roof. These tracks don't cause actual harm the birds. Rather, these tracks emit an uncomfortable low volt shock that soon trains the birds to no longer sit there.

I also installed an "eagle eye" to the lower dock section. This device rotates with the wind giving off a reflection to keep all the birds away. This annoyingly large glare of light distracts the birds from landing.

After I finished installing these bird repellent devices, I explained everything to the homeowner, and told him that these devices will be substantially reduce the level of bird activity, and over time, the bird problem will be completely eliminated. The seagulls will seek out other more hospitable locations where they are not shocked or otherwise bothered every time they attempted to land. Needless to say, the homeowner was thrilled that he had his home back and he and his family could come and go as they please without worrying about being "bombarded" by falling bird debris, and that his home and prized boat would no longer be treated as a bird waste disposal facility.
