Photo Album: Sump pump needed for new home purchase
A customer recently purchased a home in Princeton that did not have a submersible pump in the well that was already there. Fortunately, this customer realized that this was a potential problem that needed to be corrected, and correct soon. Our homes are surrounded by groundwater that can find its way inside through the smallest cracks in a home’s foundation, especially in homes built in areas with a high water table or in areas with poor groundwater drainage due to high levels of clay. And, sometimes, it’s just the topography. Homes built on the lower side of an upward grade often struggle with crawl space and basement water problems. Needless to say, wet basements and crawl spaces can cause significant property damage. But that’s not the only problem. These conditions attract insects and wildlife and trigger dangerous mold growth. Crawl spaces can be a headache because they are “out of sight, out of mind.” Problems down below can stay hidden for quite awhile without being discovered.
