Skunk Hides Underneath the Deck in Trenton, NJ

Challenge

This customer in Trenton, NJ had a skunk residing underneath her deck, so she called Little Rascals for help and we were sent out. 

Solution

In order to safely retrieve the skunk, first, we installed Dig Defense® around the entire deck, except for the main access point. For that area, we installed a positive set and a baited device nearby. A positive set is comprised of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone will safely guide the skunk into the device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the skunk will enter the device.

Dig Defense® is a below-ground fence system that is 15 inches deep, 4 feet across, and protects structures against all nuisance wildlife. A short while after setting up, we retrieved the skunk! We then took it to a much safer and humane location and installed another portion of Dig Defense® over the main access point.
