After spotting a few bats flying out from roof one evening, this homeowner in Manalapan, NJ called our Nuisance Wildlife Division for help. When we arrived, we inspected the roof area to find out exactly how the bats were able to get into the attic. Once we finished our inspection, we found several areas that the bats were using to get into the home: the roof intake vent, the area right above the gutters, and the ends of the ridge vent. The ridge vent is the very peak shingles that usually has a venting material such as cobra venting or a variety of padded vent shingles, but sometimes they only cover the sides and the ends are forgotten about. After safely removing the bats from the home, we disinfected the attic and installed a Ridge-Guard® along the entire ridge vent. Ridge-Guard® secures and reinforces the ridge vent shingles so that bats or any nuisance wildlife cannot enter. Afterward, we installed Pest-Blok above the gutters. Pest-Blok doesn't restrict the airflow to the attic, undergoes a silicone-protected polyester coating process that makes it last longer, and guards the home against pests, birds, and all nuisance wildlife. Lastly, we installed a chimney cap over the roof intake vent. This heavy-duty material is constructed out of 24 Gauge Top and Flange, and 18 Gauge Galvanized Mesh! Now that the bats are properly excluded from the property, the homeowners will no longer have any issues with them or any other nuisance wildlife.Safely Removing Some Bats from the Attic in Manalapan, NJ
