This commercial building in Jamesburg, NJ was having an issue with rats. As I inspected the building, I was surprised to see that it sealed up rather well. All the utility and chase pipes were sealed and showed no signs of damage from rats and all the exterior doors had door sweeps under them. I even examined the exterior of the building and it was sealed up rather well and the trash containers were organized and clean. That's when I noticed the massive pile-up of garbage in the lot next door. I decided to take a closer look and that's where I found evidence of rats! There were rat droppings, nests, and even dead rats throughout the debris! The owner had the rat infestation because his neighbor didn't properly dispose of his garbage! I informed the manager who then spoke to his neighbor about the garbage buildup. I was happy to hear they reconciled and decided to clean up the mess together. As they worked together to clean up the mess, I installed several rodent bait stations throughout the interior and exterior of the building. I even installed several exterior bait stations around the neighbor's trash receptacles. I'll return for a follow-up visit to monitor the bait stations and replenish the bait until the rats are no longer present on the property.
