Challenge

Recently, we went out on a service call for a property manager in East Brunswick, NJ who was having a "small" issue with German cockroaches in one of his properties. Apparently, the previous tenants trashed the apartment and left rotten food all over the place. The property manager had mentioned to us that the infestation was bad, but we had NO idea how bad it really was.

Once we opened the door, several cockroaches ran out. There were cockroaches all over the apartment! In the fridge, in the windows, on the walls, and even inside the toilet paper! With an infestation this bad there are several health issues involved. Cockroaches both defecate and regurgitate on the food that they eat and spread bacteria and parasites that may be living inside of them. Additionally, a bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa found in cockroaches can be transmitted to humans and it is difficult to cure. 

Solution

The first thing we did was dispose of every single item in the apartment and then applied a liquid growth regulator. This application prevents the cockroaches from multiplying and can lower the infestation to a manageable level. Next, we applied an oil-based mist spray into every single wall void, crack, and crevice in the apartment to chase the cockroaches into the growth regulator. We then set-up glue traps throughout the apartment and then treated the two adjoining apartments as a preventative measure.
