Scott Dellett Now a Certified Zoonotic Disease Professional
Awarded on Friday, April 10th, 2020
Scott Dellett, our Residential Service Supervisor, was just recently certified by the National Wildlife Control Operators Association (NWCOA) as a Zoonotic Disease Professional! Zoonotic, pertaining to a zoonosis, is a disease that can be transmitted from animals to people or, more specifically, a disease that normally exists in animals but that can infect humans.
To achieve this, Scott had to partake in an 8-hour course and then complete a 50 question exam, which included in-depth questions about zoonosis, risk by species, vector-borne species, specific diseases, routes of entry, examination, disinfecting, sterilizing, and different types of pathogens. Not only did Scott pass the exam, but he scored the highest grade in the class, 96%!
Scott adds this certification to his already impressive list of certifications and accomplishments, which are Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) status by the Entomological Society of America Certification Corporation, Professional Bat Standard and Rodent Standard Certification by NWCOA.
Scott now joins Cowleys founder and Co-owner, Drew Cowley, as a Zoonotic Disease Professional. Cowleys Pest Services is one of the very few pest control companies in the state in which more than one technician has this certification.
